NEBULIZER

INTRODUCTION

A nebulizer is a electronic device which converts water based product to drops. Nebulizer is one of the most common and easiest ways to medicate the consumer in the form of a drop inhaled by the lungs.

Nebulizers are commonly used by the young children and infants who breaths normally. They are also used for the treatment of several disorders such as asthma, cystic fibrosis, respiratory diseases, etc.

USE OF NEBULIZER:-

1.lungs infection – the use of medicines in nebulizers are highly effective which helps it to deliver the medicine to the infected area of the lungs.

2.chronic obstructive pulmonary disease – it is a disease which makes breathing very difficult, but nebulizers help to breath properly.

3.helps in insulin application – nebulizers also helps in insulin application to the diabetic patient.

1.medicine cup

3.mask/mouthpiece

4.compressor

5.plastic tubing

STEPS TO USE A NEBULIZER

1.firstly, put the medicine or liquid into the medicine cup and attach the top piece and mask/ mouth piece together

2.connect the tube with one side to the compressor and other to the medicine cup

3.put the mask over your face or mouthpiece in the mouth between your lips and turn on the compressor

4.hold the nebulizer on the upright position to ensure that the medicine is properly distributed.

5.take normal or regular breath so that the medicine can go deep inside your body and continue this till all the medicine is vanished from the cup.

SIDE EFFECTS AND PRECAUTIONS

It can cause an irritation on the eyes which may occur while using nebulizer, if not worn as per the instructions.

It may also cause an bacterial infection, use of nebulizer can increase the bacterial infection if not cleaned and maintained properly.

Extreme use of face mask can cause side effects on the face and eye of the user.

DISADVANTAGE OF NEBULIZER

1.expensive – nebulizer is an expensive product comparatively

2.difficult to carry – it is difficult to carry a nebulizer as it takes huge space

3.need electric power – it does not work without the power supply

4.noise – while using jet nebulizers it produces heavy noise which irritates the people around
